What is the meaning of makeup?
1:07:00 PMFor a lot of women the use of makeup means you have to apply tons and tons of cosmetic products in the face, but the true meaning is to transform yourself without losing your own naturality, feel beautiful and project self confidence.
A good makeup can make you stand out and help you enhance your own features with light and colors. Just with a touch of rouge on the cheeks, a very well define brows, a super curling mascara and some lip gloss you can revamp your image and even correct some parts of your face that need a little help. We all are like the little cocoon that is ready to metamorphose and become the most beautiful and unique butterfly.
This website is going to travel with you through the wonderful world of makeup and will teach you some techniques specially for your own personality and facial features, but at the end you are going to be the one that will find your own personal style and you will learn that no matter what shape is your face in your own makeup palette there is the right combination of colors for you.
So, let's start with the basics...
The first thing I am gonna ask you to do is to get a head wrap to remove completely the hair from the face, the next step is very simple, go grab a mirror and try to determine what kind of shape has your face.
With the help of a measuring tape or a ruler you will have to take the following measurements and write them down on a piece of paper to find out what kind of shape do you have.
Steps.
1.- Measure your face across the top of your cheekbones.
2.-Measure across your forehead at the widest point. Most of the time the widest point will be somewhere about halfway between your eyebrows and your hairline.
3.-Measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chin.
What kind of face do you have?
There are basically 7 face shapes. Generally people’s faces can be a combination of different shapes, so use this information only as a guide, not as a rule.
Oval Face
The oval shape is considered to be the ideal face shape, is extremely vesatile so a lot of hairstyles can look good on this shape.
Also you can apply the blush on the apple of the cheeks for a natural look and if you want more drama, a slightly more blush on the bridge of your nose will do the trick. You don't need to contour your face.
For this face shape, at applying blush your should soften a little bit the angles of the cheeks concentrating the brighter color of the blush on the apple of the cheeks, after that you should sweep the color strait out towards your temples. This will give your face a lift and also if you want to round the corners of your jawline, lightly dust some blush from your chin to just below your ears.
Round face
If you have a round face shape, the goal here is to slim the face. Start applying blush to the area just above the apples of your cheeks and slightly blend forward to thin the face. Make sure not to get blush too close of your nose; otherwise the extra color will highlight the roundness of the cheeks.
For a more defined bone structure, dust the contour shade just below the cheekbone down to the jawline and blend very carefully the color so it looks natural.
Long shape
To create the illusion of width on a long-shaped face you should apply the blush to the apple of the cheeks and extend the color outward towards your ears. Next, sweep your blush across the middle of your forehead and along your chin line. Don't forget to blend!
Heart shape
If you have this face shape, you need a makeup that extenuates the jaw line and narrows at the eyes, and you can do that with blush of course. Apply color slightly below the apple of the cheek for more of a contour, then up at a diagonal. Adding color here balances a smaller jawline and chin.
Knowing your proper shape can help you to do the necessary corrections to your face and give light and freshness to your skin, but always in a a gentle and subtle way.
Don't worry if you have not seen yourself fully reflected in these drawings, many times we can have a mixture of two types of a face shape, just try to follow the one that resemblance and is a little close to yours. Try to follow those little tips to delineate and contour your face and you will be looking like a million bucks.
