Hubby and I went to Dubai for a day, and let me tell you that only one day it is not enough to see everything this city has to offer. We were rushing all day trying to see the most that we could, and it was a little overwhelming because I am the kind of person that likes to enjoy, observe, relax and take all the time I can to explore a new city. So we promised to ourselves that we needed to go back in the future and spend more time getting to know Dubai.

Dubai is such a beautiful city, it is so easy to forget that you are in the middle of the desert because of  the modernity that you can see on their tall and elegant buildings and different structures.

There are so many souks(traditional stores) in which you can buy the rarest spices, traditional clothes, perfumes, lamps, hand painted plates, elegant rugs and even gold, in fact there is a souk designated only for purchasing gold, I never had the opportunity to go there because it was Friday and all Fridays the souks open late and some of them are closed but in my next visit this is the first place I want to go.

The people in the markets tend to be very kind and friendly and some of them speak a lot of languages, but still you should never forget to bargain your way in order to score some good deals.

Mi esposo y yo fuimos a Dubai por un día, y déjenme decirles que un día no fue suficiente para conocer por completo esta ciudad. Estuvimos todo el tiempo apurados tratando de ver lo más que podíamos y fue un poco abrumador porque yo soy de las personas que le gusta relajarse y explorar una ciudad poco a poco, admirarla y tomarme mi tiempo. Así que nos prometimos volver en el futuro esta vez por más días.

Dubai es una ciudad muy hermosa, es sencillo olvidar que uno se encuentra en el medio del desierto por la modernidad que se respira en el ambiente al observar los altos y majestuosos edificios y diferentes estructuras que adornan la ciudad.

Hy muchos souks(tienditas tradicionales) en las que se puede comprar desde las más variadas y raras especias, pasando por ropa tradicional, perfumes, platos pintados a mano, elegantes alfombras y hasta oro, de echo hay un souk destinado solo a la compra de oro, lastimosamente no pude ir a visitarlo porque era Viernes y los Viernes por lo regular abren tarde o están cerrados, pero para mi próxima visita es el primer lugar al que iré sin duda alguna.

La gente en los mercaditos tiende a ser muy amable y muchos de ellos inclusive hablan varios idiomas así que comunicarse no va a ser un problema. Lo que si tienes que tener presente es que debes regatear los precios siempre para poder obtener una buena compra.
