Vacation time!

My husband and I had the amazing opportunity to go to Malaysia and Indonesia for a couple of weeks for Christmas and New year respectively.
Being here in India can be a little frustrating and tough sometimes, so having this free time to go out of this country and explore different parts of Asia is always a fabulous experience. We really needed to get out, relax and get to know more exotic places.
I have to tell you that I am in love with Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur is such a modern city and is growing so fast, and although there is construction sites in the city taking place, the infrastructure is totally different than India. Everything is clean, modern and there is a little bit for everybody, from Japanese, Chinese, middle Easter and western stores, many different restaurants, bars and pubs, to high end brands and shopping malls.
I enjoyed this city and also the wonderful and friendly people that always made me feel at home.
We also had the opportunity to go to Bali in Indonesia, we needed so badly to sleep, relax, and do nothing, so the Tugu Hotel in Bali was the best choice. We spent also our 12th year wedding anniversary there and they made us feel so special. We are definitely planning to go back soon.

Mi esposo y yo tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar Malasia e indonesia por un par de semanas en Navidad y fin de año respectivamente.
Estar en India puede llegar a ser un poco difícil y frustrante, así que tener un poco de tiempo disponible para salir de este país y conocer otros lugares en Asia es una experiencia maravillosa. En realidad necesitábamos salir, relajarnos y explorar lugares nuevos y exóticos.
Tengo que decirles que me enamoré de Kuala Lumpur, la capital de Malasia.
Kuala Lumpur es una ciudad tan moderna y cada día crece mucho más, que a pesar de haber mucha construcción en las calles, definitivamente la infraestructura es muy diferente a la India. Todo es limpio, moderno y hay de todo para todo el mundo, desde tiendas japonesas, chinas y del medio oriente, un sin fin de restaurantes, bares y centros comerciales económicos, así como caros.
También tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar Bali en Indonesia, nos hacía tanta falta relajarnos, reposar y dormir, y no nos equivocamos al escoger al hotel Tugu Bali para nuestros propósitos. Pasamos nuestro aniversario de bodas número 12 ahí y nos hicieron sentir muy especiales. Definitivamente tenemos que regresar pronto.

Kuala Lumpur(KL), as I said before, is such a wonderful city. There are this amazing craft shops everywhere, huge malls, skyscrapers and the food is delicious.
One of the very interesting places in KL are the Batu Caves, that are basically a Hindu shrine in a mountain. To get there you have to climb up 272 steps, and let me tell you, after doing this I thought my legs were basically made out of jello because they were shaking and cramping uncontrollably, and even though I run everyday and do a little bit of yoga, I felt so tired, hot and thirsty.
Anyway, the temple is surrounded by so many monkeys that can be a little territorial, so you have to keep your belongings secure with yourself, because they tend to steal water bottles(that incredibly as it may sound, they know how to open!!), sunglasses, cellphones, and they also can bite. Ouch!
So you have to keep your distance and be careful.
Kuala Lumpur(KL), como ya lo dije antes, es una ciudad maravillosa. Hay muchas tiendas artesanales en todas partes, inmensos centros comerciales y además la comida es super rica.
Uno de los lugares más interesantes en KL son las cuevas Batu, que son básicamente unos templos Hindúes en una montaña. Para llegar a la cima, tienes que subir 272 escalones, y déjenme decirles que no es fácil, después de hacer esto sentí que mis piernas eran como gelatina, no paraban de temblar y estaban super acalambradas, a pesar de que todos los días salgo a correr y hago un poco de yoga, pero por lo visto estoy en un pésimo estado físico. Terminé exhausta, acalorada y sedienta.
Al rededor del templo se encuentran muchos monos que pueden llegar a ser un poco territoriales, así que tienes que mantener tus cosas muy seguras porque tienden a robar todo lo que pueden, desde botellas de agua(que increíblemente saben como abrir) gafas de sol, celulares, y por si fuera poco, saben morder a la gente. Así que te toca mantener la distancia y ser cuidadosa.

Bali is such a beautiful Island in Indonesia, although we didn't have enough time to check out the whole island, the time we spent at the hotel was more than enough to get to know a little bit more about the culture, the friendliness of their people and the deliciousness of the food.
We spent the end of the year in Bali and also celebrated our 12th year wedding anniversary, it was amazing and my husband and I coincide that Bali will always have a special place in our hearts.
Bali es una isla maravillosa en Indonesia, y aunque lastimosamente no tuvimos suficiente tiempo para recorrer toda la isla, el tiempo que pasamos en el hotel nos sirvió mucho para conocer un poco más la cultura, la amabilidad de la gente y lo deliciosa que es la comida.
Pasamos en fin de ańo ahi y también celebramos nuestro aniversario de bodas numero 12, fue maravilloso y mi esposo y yo coincidimos en que Bali siempre tendrá un lugar muy importante en nuestros corazones.

Pool time!      Celebrating the new year in Bali was amazing, there were fireworks, bonfires, music, food and delicious drinks. We loved the Balinese dancing and acrobats, and we danced a lot that night. It was such a wonderful celebration to end this amazing year. The next day we celebrated our anniversary, my husband prepared with the help of the hotel a "dinner in bed" in front of the beach and it was glorious. The bed was very comfortable, the food amazing and the best of all was that my husband was by my side. We spent such a wonderful and unique night that I am so sad it is already over, but we promised to return because we had an amazing experience that is worth repeating it. Celebrar el comienzo del nuevo año es Bali fue maravilloso, hubo fuegos artificiales, fogatas, música, comida deliciosa y muchas bebidas super ricas. Nos encantaron las bailarinas Balineses y los acróbatas, bailamos mucho esa noche y la disfrutamos. Fue un maravilloso fin de año. Al siguiente día celebramos nuestro aniversario, mi esposo preparó con la ayuda del hotel una "cena en la cama" frente a la playa y fue maravillosa. La cama estuvo super confortable, la comida exquisita y lo mejor de todo es que mi esposo estuvo conmigo toda la noche. Pasamos una velada magnifica y única que me apena que se haya terminado, pero nos prometimos regresar porque la pasamos tan bien que vale la pena repetirlo.  |
