Busy weekend!

This past weekend it's been intense.
On Saturday we went to the Hard Rock Cafe here in Bangalore India, just to see it and to eat some yummy food. I miss so much my american and ecuadorian food, and although I am cooking at home, sometimes the spices here in India tend to be a little overwhelming for my palate, plus I don't like to cook that much, I just cook because I don't want to die of hunger.
I am a plain girl, I don't like things in excess, specially spices that I am not familiar with, on the other hand, I looooove fried food(who doesn't!) haha so, when my husband asked me if I wanted to go to check out the Hard Rock Cafe, I just immediately pictured in my mind tons of french fries, breaded chicken, super creamy mac and cheese and delicious comforting greasy food. Mmm, just what I needed. Yum!
Este fin de semana pasado ha sido intenso.
El sábado fuimos al Hard Rock Cafe aquí en Bangalore India, para conocerlo y para comer comida americana. Me hace tanta falta mi comidita americana y ecuatoriana, y aunque estoy cocinando en casa, algunas veces aquí en la India las especias son un poco abrumadoras para mi paladar, además no me gusta cocinar mucho. Lo hago más por obligación para no morir de hambre.
Soy una chica simple, no me gustan las cosas en excesos, especialmente la comida muy saborizada con especias que no estoy familiarizada, por otra parte debo decir que amo la comida frita(y quien no, verdad?) jaja, así que cuando mi esposo me preguntó si quería ir a conocer el Hard Rock Cafe, en lo primero que pensé fue en deliciosas papas fritas, pollo empanizado, macarrones con queso y mucha, mucha comida grasosa. Hmm! exacto como me gusta.
The experience was the typical one you experience when you go to any Hard Rock cafe. We were seated and our server brought us the huge menu, we ordered fancy drinks topped with maraschino cherries and lemons, a couple of greasy appetisers and I got to try out the mac and cheese with chicken and my husband got some bbq ribs.
We ate a lot. And although the food wasn't espectacular, (3 from 5 stars) we were so hungry so we ate like if we were shipwrecked people.
Overall it was a good experience, we saw tons of international people eating in there. I guess it's ok to feel a little home sick sometime and eat some comfort food.
It was nice to be in an americanized place for a little while.
La experiencia en el Hard Rock cafe es la tipica experiencia de siempre. Nos sentaron en una mesa bonita, y nuestro mesero nos trajo la carta, ordenamos bebidas un poco pretenciosas, un par de aperitivos y yo pedí macarrones con quesito y pollo y mi esposo ordenó costillitas en salsa bbq.
Comimos bastante. Y aunque la comida no estuvo espectacular(digamos que 3 estrellas de 5) teníamos mucha hambre así que comimos como náufragos.
La experiencia en general fue muy buena, vimos mucha gente extranjera comiendo ahi. Me parece que esta bien sentirse un poco triste y extrañar la comida de vez en cuando.
Fue lindo estar en un lugar americanizado por un tiempo.

After lunch my husband had the amazing idea of walking to a nearby starbucks for coffee, I was a little hesitant, (I don't like walking, I can only walk for hours in a shopping mall haha) I was wearing heels, neon heels!!! :)
So, I accepted thinking that it was going to be really close to get there. We started walking, and walking and walking. But let me tell you something, walking in downtown Bangalore is so chaotic, first of all, all the cars and motorcycles feel they have to honk the horn all the times, so it gets very loud, at some point I couldn't hear my own thoughts because everyone honks in the streets and gets so deafening and hectic, plus the streets have huge cracks, are uneven and sometimes there is dirt, water and trash in your way, so forget about wearing your fancy shoes in the streets.
After a couple of blocks I decided I couldn't go anymore. It was getting so hot and I was so tired to tiptoe my way in and skip the trash and cracks of the street . So I gave up!
We decided to call our driver to come pick us up. BEST DECISION EVER!!!!!!!
Así, que acepté caminar pensando que sería cerca. Comenzamos a caminar. Pero déjenme decirles algo chicas, caminar en el centro de Bangalore is super caótico, primero que todo, los benditos autos y motocicletas siempre pitan la bocina a cada rato, hasta por si ven a una mosca pasar, y se vuelve tan frenética la situación que en un momento determinado no eres capaz ni de escuchar tus propios pensamientos, además las calles tienen enormes grietas, están a desnivel, son sucias y hay agua y basura por todas partes, así que olvídate de usar tus mejores zapatos para esta labor maratónica.
Después de algunas cuadras que caminamos decidí que no podía dar ni un paso más. Estaba haciendo demasiado calor y estaba cansada de caminar en puntillas o saltando y esquivando los agujeros del piso. Así que me rendí!
Decidimos llamar a nuestro conductor para que nos recoja y nos lleve en el auto. Esa fue amigas mias la MEJOR DECISION del mundo mundial!!!!!
The next day it was election day here in Bangalore so we thought there were not going to be a lot of people out so we ventured to go into the mall to have some lunch, but lucky us, almost all restaurants were closed, so we drove nearby and we found this hotel called Zuri Hotel, so we decided to go inside and try the food. It was good(3.5 stars from 5).
I found this beautiful black and white sofa(so fashion!!!) And I was in monochrome too so I decided to get a picture. Why not, right?.
The hotel was really pretty, a little different from what I am used to, but nevertheless pretty, modern and eclectic. Good choice hubby, bravo!
El día siguiente fue día de elecciones aquí en Bangalore así que pensamos que no iba a haber mucha gente en el centro comercial, así que decidimos ir por el almuerzo, para nuestra suerte, casi todos los restaurantes estaban cerrados, así que nos tocó ir a buscar algún lugar para comer. Encontramos un hotel llamado Zuri, así que decidimos darle una oportunidad y probar la comida. Estuvo rica(3.5 estrellas de 5).
Me encontré con este hermoso sofá blanco con negro(Super fashion!!) así que no me pude resistir y tuve que parar un momento para tomarme una foto ahí.
El hotel es muy bonito, un poco diferente a lo que estoy acostumbrada, pero sin embargo es muy bonito, moderno y ecléctico. Buena opción esposo mio, bravo!
On Monday we had to go back to downtown to get some paperwork done at the immigration office, so instead of waiting in there an hour, we decided to go find a place to get something to eat. We had to wake up so early in the morning, and we were a little hungry.
Anyway, so we were passing by this beautiful, huge hotel so we decided to get inside quickly and check out the cafeteria.
The Ritz Carlton hotel is Oh! so beautiful and very elegant, I almost felt underdressed being in there.
We found the cafeteria and we ordered breakfast. The cappuccinos were so delicious, top-notch you guys, exactly what we needed.
Oh coffee, marry me please!!!
Before our breakfast arrived we decided to make an impromptu "foto shoot" in that beautiful room.
The bartender was watching but he was smiling in approval, so he showed us this beautiful and private wine room that is surrounded by wine bottles and told us to take pictures in there too, so we did it, of course we did it. haha
El Lunes tuvimos que ir al centro de la ciudad para completar unos tramites con la oficina de inmigración, así que en vez de esperar ahi en esa oficina mientras el trámite estaba listo, decidimos ir a buscar algún lugar para comer algo. Nos había tocado levantar tan temprano esa mañana por lo que estábamos con un poco de hambre.
Pasando por las calles, vimos un hermoso hotel a nuestra derecha y decidimos entrar a ver como era su cafetería.
El hotel Ritz Carlton es sin duda alguna hermoso y muy elegante, tanto, que me llegué a sentir mal vestida estando ahi.
Encontramos la cafetería y ordenamos desayuno. Los capuchinos estuvieron deliciosos, era exacto lo que necesitábamos. Café divino tesoro!!
Antes de que llegue nuestro desayuno se nos ocurrió hacer una improvisada sesión de fotos en aquel lugar tan lindo.
El bartender sonreía y aprobaba con la mirada, nos mostró un hermoso cuarto privado lleno de botellas de vino y nos dijo que tomáramos fotos ahi, así que lo hicimos, por supuesto que lo hicimos. jaja

I loved it, next time I should try the wine.
Las paredes de aquel cuarto eran botellas de vino. El lugar era precioso y muy privado.
Me encantó, para la próxima debo de probar el vino.

And that was it. A nice, busy weekend, exactly how I like it :)
I hope your weekend was good too. Next time I think I might go to the botanical park one more time, remember that I couldn't finish it the other day? So I think it is time to check it out again. I will bring my big camera this time so I can take better pictures. My iphone is good but nothing beats my Sony cyber-shot.

Y eso fue todo. Un fin de semana ocupado, exactamente como me gustan :)
Espero que su fin de semana haya estado bonito también. Para la próxima estoy pensando en volver a ir al parque botánico, se acuerdan que no lo pude terminar de ver aquel día que fui? Así que es momento de ir a visitarlo otra vez. Lo bueno es que esta vez ya aprendí mi lección, no llevaré tacones altos, lo prometo.
