Weekend at the beach

Hello cupcakes!
This past weekend I went to the beach for a couple of days, I went to this beautiful place in my country called, Ayampe, I also visited some small towns and beaches and took some pictures.
I have been a little sick, so, my husband told me we needed to go to the beach because the weather there tends to be much better, plus, the salty air have this amazing curative powers, so I gave it a try.
In my way to Ayampe, I passed this awesome and solitary beach called Olón (that means big wave) my husband made me stop and walk a little, the sand beneath my feet felt amazing, and because there were literally no one that day, I felt like the world belonged to the two of us. It was amazing.
We also went to Puerto Lopez, a small fishermen town in the coast of Ecuador, we wanted to see the whales but the season for the whale's mating dances are between July and September, so we decided to walk a little instead, and get to know the town. We need to go back next year to see the whales though.
When we arrived to Ayampe, we stayed at this beautiful bungalow, in a small boutique hotel and we were surrounded by nature, it was heaven.
Now I am feeling much better, I think the beach is really magical, it has this power to clean your life from accumulated stress and also do good to your lungs. I wanna go back already.

Este pasado fin de semana estuve un par de dias por la playa, me fui a esta hermosa playa en mi país situada en Ayampe, también visité algunos pueblitos y pequeñas playas y tomé algunas fotos.
He estado un poco enfermita, asi que mi esposo me secuestró y me dijo que vayamos a la playa porque el clima es perfecto allá y además el aire salado tiene poderes curativos, asi que me escapé y me fui con él.
En mi camino hacia Ayampe, pasé por una playa solitaria llamada Olón, mi esposo me hizo parar y bajarme a caminar un poco, la arena debajo de mis pies se sentía maravillosamente bien, y como literalmente no había casi nadie en la playa, me sentí como si el mundo perteneciera solo a los dos, fue maravilloso.
También fuimos a Puerto Lopez, que es un pequeño puerto pesquero en la costa de Ecuador, queríamos ver a las ballenas, pero el baile de apareamiento de ellas es desde Julio a Septiembre, asi que decidimos entonces dar una vuelta por el pueblo y conocerlo.
Tenemos que ir a ver las ballenas el próximo año.
Cuando llegamos a Ayampe, nos hospedamos en un bungalow en un hotel tipo boutique hermoso, y estuvimos rodeados de naturaleza por todas partes, estuvimos en el paraiso.
Con respecto a mi enfermedad, ya me estoy sintiendo mejor, pienso que la playa es mágica, tiene el poder de limpiarte del estrés acumulado y además le hace bien a las vias respiratorias. ya quiero regresar.
Here I am at Olón, the weather was amazing, it wasn't so hot, in fact, the air was flowing and playing with my hair. I felt welcomed and restored.
Aqui estoy en Olón, el clima estuvo delicioso, no hacía mucho calor, de hecho, el aire fluía y jugaba con mi cabello. Me sentí bienvenida y restaurada.

Here I am at Ayampe.
I found this hammock on the beach and I decided to relax a little.
It was a little chilly this day, so I wore some yoga pants and a t shirt.
Aqui estoy en Ayampe.
Encontré esta hamaca en la playa y decidí relajarme un poquito.
Ese dia hizo un poco de frío, así que me puse unos pantalones de yoga y una camiseta...
problema resuelto, no más frio!
Here I am "holding" Los Ahorcados, that is a rocky little island in Ayampe, it is called "The island of the Hanged" because the story says that the pirates chose that island to condemn to death the traitors and enemies they faced, they hanged them on the island so everybody could see what would happen if you defy them. I know the story is a little creepy but I don't know if it actually is a fact.
If you go to Los Ahorcados, you can surf, you can see a variety of multicolored fishes and birds, and you can snorkel and watch the sunset, its beautiful, a little creepy but beautiful. hehehe
Aquí estoy "sosteniendo" a los Ahorcados, que es un pequeño islote rocoso en Ayampe, se llama "los Ahorcados" porque cuenta la leyenda que los piratas escogieron esa isla para condenar a muerte a los traidores, desertores y enemigos que encontraban en su camino, los colgaban en esa isla para que todos puedan ver que pasaría si se los desafiaba. Sé que la historia es media tenebrosa, pero no se si la leyenda sea real o no.
Si visitas a los ahorcados, en la actualidad puedes surfear, ver una variedad infinita de peces multicolores, ver pájaros, hacer snorkel y mirar el atardecer que es lo más bello en esa isla.

This is Puerto Lopez, as I said before, is a little fisherman town, the food is so fresh, you can literally said that the fish is from the sea to your plate. Everything was delicious.
The beach is gorgeous and is surrounded by mountains, I have never seen a beach with mountains so close, the view was spectacular.
Este es Puerto Lopez, el pequeño pueblito pesquero del que hablé hace poco. La comida es super fresca, literalmente puedes decir que el pescado va del océano a tu plato. Todo estuvo delicioso.
La playa es linda y está rodeada de montañas, yo nunca había visto alguna playa con montañas a su alrededor, fue espectacular.
This is the skeleton of a humpback whale, look how big it is!!
This whale was found on the shore of the beach, after doing the appropriate investigations, the biologists discovered that the whale died from cancer, (how sad is that?) so they decided to clean it up, removing the bones to dry out, and getting rid of the decomposing material(it took a lot of work) and put it on display, so people can see how wonderful this animal is.
The people name the whale Fritz!
He was a male humpback whale.
Este es el esqueleto de una ballena jorobada, mira que grande es!!
Esta ballena fue encontrada a las orillas de la playa, después de las investigaciones hechas por los biólogos, se descubrió que la ballena murió de cancer, (que triste, no?) asi que decidieron limpiarla, remover sus huesos para secarlos y eliminar el material de desecho (proceso que tomó mucho tiempo y esfuerzo en hacer) y poner los huesos en exhibición para que todos podamos apreciar la grandeza de este animal.
La gente nombró a la ballena Fritz!

I hope you liked the pictures, I love being able to transport you to this beautiful places, every time I see pictures from beautiful and different places is amazing how I can feel I am there.
I know some times is difficult to find the time and save the money to do lots of trips, but seeing pictures like this can help you get to know the world. I bet you didn't know that in Ecuador we have so many wonderful beaches, hehe
My husband and I are going to celebrate our 11th anniversary at the Galapagos Islands, so I am very excited and looking forward to do that.

Espero que les hayan gustado las fotos, amo cuando puedo transportarlos a estos lugares maravillosos al menos en fotos, cada vez que veo fotos de gente que comparte sus viajes siento hermoso y me siento parte de esos viajes.
Sé que algunas veces es difícil programar el tiempo y ahorrar el dinero para viajar, pero ver fotografías como estas, nos ayudan a conocer el mundo. Apuesto que ustedes no sabían que en Ecuador tenemos muchas playas hermosas, verdad? jeje
Mi esposo y yo vamos a celebrar nuestro aniversario numero 11 en las islas Galápagos, asi que estoy muy ansiosa y contenta por eso.
