Black and roses

Now that I am in my mid 30s I have starting to realize that my style has changed. I am more and more attracted to midi skirts, lots of colors, simplicity and elegance.
When I was younger I thought that wearing skin tight dresses and super high heels was a staple, but now I feel a little different. I no longer feel the need to show my body all the time because I don't want to be noticed, I want to be remembered in a good way, and you can only do that if you wear simple but elegant pieces.
We are being constantly bombarded by advertisements and magazines telling us what we should be wearing, how to be beautiful, and how to be on trend, and some women sometimes obsessed about this a lot, you can see them wearing everything the fashion industry dictates. I think that is got to be exhausting, don't you think? trying to please everybody and look perfect all the time it is got to be time consuming, hard and difficult. That is why I think we should invest some time in finding who we are, what style we like and what we want to project, so we can dress in a way that make us happy.
It is a process, you are not going to discover who you are and what you like so simple and easy, you have to try different styles and see how you feel about each and every one of them.
Something that I did (and I still do) when I need some inspiration is to check out for pictures from the 40's and 50's because I love the feminine, yet elegant silhouette women opted for at that time, and I think that is where my crazy love for midi skirts was born.
But we are not in the 50's anymore, we are living in a new era and I think there are ways to incorporate some of the things you love from different times in your wardrobe, in this outfit for example I decided to wear a midi skirt with a beautiful flowery pattern that reminded me of a vintage dress for some reason, I loved this look so much, is a little vintage and at the same time a little modern and simple, and what I love even more about this, is that this look is totally me, is my style and it makes me feel amazingly feminine, secure, elegant and myself.
Ahora que estoy en mi mediados 30s he empezando a darme cuenta de que mi estilo ha cambiado. Estoy cada vez más atraída por las faldas midi, por colores, por la simplicidad y la elegancia.
Cuando era más joven pensaba que usar vestidos ajustados y tacones súper altos era un elemento básico, pero ahora me siento diferente. Ya no siento la necesidad de mostrar mi cuerpo todo el tiempo porque no quiero ser notada ni llamar la atención todo el tiempo, quiero ser recordada, y sólo puedo hacerlo si incorporo piezas sencillas pero elegantes y con estilo en mi armario.
Estamos siendo constantemente bombardeados por la publicidad y las revistas que nos dicen lo que se supone debemos llevar, cómo lucir hermosas, y cual es la forma correcta de estar en tendencia, y algunas mujeres a veces se obsesionan mucho acerca de esto, se puede ver en toda la presión que sienten al ponerse todo lo que dicta la industria de la moda.
Me parece que llevar ese estilo de vida debe de ser tremendamente agotador, ¿no te parece ? tratar de complacer a todo el mundo y lucir perfecta todo el tiempo debe ser abrumador, duro y difícil.
Por eso creo que es muy importante invertir algo de tiempo en la búsqueda de lo que somos(nuestra esencia) el estilo que nos gusta y lo que queremos proyectar a los demás, para poder vestirnos de una manera que nos haga felices, sin sentirnos presionadas por lo que se "supone" esta de moda.
Es un proceso el llegar a conocernos, no se va a descubrir quién eres y lo que te gusta tan simple y fácil, tienes que probar diferentes estilos y ver cuál es tu opinión acerca de todos y cada uno de ellos.
Algo que hice (y todavía lo hago) cuando necesito un poco de inspiración es ver fotos de los años 40 y 50, que es mi época favorita de la moda, porque me encantan las siluetas femeninas, pero elegantes por las que las mujeres optaban en aquel tiempo, y creo que ahí es donde mi loca pasión por las faldas midi nació. jaja
Pero no estamos en los años 50, vivimos en una nueva era y creo que hay maneras de incorporar algunas de las cosas que nos gustan de diferentes tiempos en el vestuario actual, en este look por ejemplo, me decidí a usar una falda midi con un hermoso patrón de flores que me recordó a un vestido de época por alguna razón, me encantó este look muchísimo, es un poco vintage y al mismo tiempo un poco más moderno, y lo que me gusta aún más acerca de esto, es que este look es totalmente mío, es mi estilo y me hace sentir increíblemente femenina, segura, elegante y ser yo misma.
Find your own style, embrace it and wear whatever makes you feel amazing. Not everybody is probably going to like it, but is not your job to please others. Your only job is to be happy, and that my friend starts with acceptance, love for the amazing person you are and your own permission to wear what puts a smile on your face.
